Ala Kiyiz is a traditional felt carpet of the Kyrgyz people, made using the roll-in pattern. Unlike shyrdak, ala kiyiz is made without seams, cuts and in a short period of time.
Felted wool rug is made of natural merino wool in dark green and white colors. Ala Kiyiz is made according to the traditional Kyrgyz technique "bakyp saluu", which means overlaying wool along and across. This ensures durability and high quality of the product. Ala Kiyiz is decorated with Kyrgyz plant motifs that grow high in the mountains. The patterns embody the beauty of mountainous nature and the tenderness of the flowers that grow under the heavens.
